Next stop Monza for Villorba Corse and Balzan, Benucci in GT Open

Italian team to enter their home round of the international series with #3 Ferrari 458 on October 2 to 4

Scuderia Villorba Corse will get back on track for the International GT Open in the “temple of speed”: Monza. The legendary circuit and the only Italian event of the series represent the home-race for the Venetian squad led by Raimondo Amadio and therefore it also is the extra push to be confirmed among the top contenders for Italian crew who completes the team: Alessandro Balzan and Nicola Benucci. Behind the wheel of the powerful Ferrari 458 GT3 the Villorba pair will be back on a very challenging track ready to race and fight at maximum speeds in front of thousands of enthusiastic motorsport fans who will come to the Autodromo Nazionale. Moreover, Balzan/Benucci will try to clinch, at least, their sixth podium of the season after a not-easy round at Spa last month when their performances were heavily influenced by weather conditions and tyre behavior.

Sixth GT Open round kicks off with two free practice sessions on Friday. First qualifying session is scheduled on

Saturday at 11h05 while the 70-minute race-1 will start at 15h55. Second qualifying session is on Sunday at 9h40 with race-2 (60 minutes) at 13h55. Both races will be broadcasted live on www.gtopen.net (clicking on WEB TV) and, live and/or deferred, on several international TV channels, pan-European Motors TV included.

Amadio, Team Principal, said: “On home soil the desire is to be able to live an exciting weekend with the whole team and the partners who will be our guests at Monza. Since the beginning of the season we knew it was a very demanding championship, Monza is congenial to our Ferrari 458 and we can count on a lot of excellent details and data. We will plan a strategy to this important weekend after practice”.
