Villorba Corse second with Cedric Mezard in GT Sports Club

Thanks to the podium clinched in the last race at Misano, the French driver is GT Sports Club vice-champion with the Ferrari 458, while in the GT Open round at Monza the team was forced to retire after an accident in race-1

Scuderia Villorba Corse had a double commitment on home soil withdifferent destinies last weekend.

The Italian team arrived at the Misano World Circuit for the final round of the GT Sports Club with their Ferrari 458 in the hands of Cedric Mezard. After qualifying race fourth place on Saturday, French driver clinched the third position in the very last main race of the championship and thanks to this fourth podium out of four races he celebrated his second place in the final overall standings.

Mezard is now the GT Sports Club vice-champion on the first season of the new international series by SRO.

The Italian team also was involved on the sixth International GT Open round at the Autodromo Nazionale of Monza with their Ferrari 458 in the hands of Alessandro Balzan and Nicola Benucci.

After a very good first row taken by Balzan in the first qualifying session, their weekend ended before expected when the Villorba crew was forced to retire after Benucci had an accident in the penultimate lap of race-1. In any case they were classified fourth but the damages suffered by their car did not permit to continue the race weekend.
