Motors TV Weekend Highlights October 10,11

Oh dear – this week’s been a bit of a washout, hasn’t it? Considering the circumstances, we were expecting to present you with nothing but glorified canal boat racing this weekend. But no need to panic, for we’ve managed to weather the elements and rustle up yet another stonking roster of all things motorised and fast for your viewing delectation!

First up, V8 Supercars roars back into life this weekend for one of the motorsport world’s greatest events: the Bathurst 1000. A sensational demonstration of racecraft saw 2015 title contender Chaz Mostert charge from the back of the grid to the podium’s top step at the iconic venue last year, and he will need to do something extra special this time out if he hopes to catch championship-leading team-mate Mark Winterbottom. Think he can do it? Watch our live coverage to find out!

Despite the implications of its name, the somewhat confusing 24H Series is heading out for its 12-hour (we don’t understand that either) season finale at Brno this Saturday. Don’t think you’re getting a cut-price deal though, as this series features one of the largest and priciest grids of any on the planet. Indeed, with over 50 top-flight GT and touring cars spread across seven categories lined up for this weekend’s final showdown, endurance racing doesn’t get much crazier.

Disciples of everything two-wheeled take note: the Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship returns for the last time this year to tear up some tarmac at Mugello. Young hotshot Celestino Vietti Ramus wrapped up the Pre Moto 3 250 4T title last time out at Imola, but everything is still to play for in the top three categories. Indeed, fewer than 32 points separate the top three contenders in the Superbike and Supersport championships, while Moto 3 leader Fabio Di Giannantonio and close rival Marco Bezzecchi look set to negotiate their 27-point difference in the only way these rapid riders know.

Roaring V8s from the States now residing in Europe are also on the agenda, folks, thanks to the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. We’re showing all the best bits from the finale at Zolder, where Elite 1 star Ander Vilarino sought to seize a third drivers’ title in four years. Tune in to find out if he confirmed his place as the most successful driver in the series’ history!

If you want to watch raw, bare-knuckle racing at its finest we recommend gluing yourself to our highlights of the final GT4 European Series round, which took place in Misano. Using cars homologated for equal performance, drivers contesting this closely fought championship have to draw upon their deepest reserves of skill to outclass the competition.

Should you have time to catch your breath you can top yourself up with some action from the ADAC GT Masters and Classic Touring Car Racing Club to keep you firmly afloat!
