Two more GT4-spec Maserati GranTurismo MCs returned to Misano on 3-4 October. Last weekend's appearance came on the back of the encouraging display put on by the Scuderia Giudici in the Nova Race Euro Series. This time, the cars were fielded by Maserati itself in the SRO GT4 European Series. Again, the results were convincing.

In PRO class Race 1, the crew of Lino and Carlo Curti were good enough to claim third spot overall. In Race 2, with violent storms meaning a safety car start, the pair crossed the line in ninth. The other outfit - Barrie Baxter and Patrick Zamparini – were competing in the AM category. The duo secured a class win (sixth overall) in Race 1 and a second spot (overall ninth) in Race 2.

The drivers, with experience in the Maserati Trofeo World Series, have trialled the car in a GT4 series and put up fighting displays. Their feedback and results will be crucial in deciding whether to take part in the 2016 with private teams.
