Motors TV Weekend Highlights October 17,18

A weekend can be useful for a whole manner of menial things – mowing the lawn, walking the dogs, that hellishly infuriating trial of persistence and patience called ‘DIY’, and so on. As you should know, screaming at spilt pots of paint has no business in your well-earned downtime. Luckily, our chunky schedule of motorsport action is in pole position to save your bacon!

First on the grid is a test of endurance you’ll be glad to see: the mega FIA World Endurance Championship. Our highlights of the series’ sixth round bring you all the best bits from a rain-soaked and highly eventful race at Fuji International Speedway, where the resurgent Porsche crew of Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard sought to gain a second consecutive victory and overhaul the mighty Audi outfit in the LMP1 Drivers’ standings. But could they do it? The answer will be revealed shortly on a screen near you!

Even more long-haul racing awaits as the highly competitive European Le Mans Series visits Estoril for the year’s final showdown. All eyes will be firmly fixed on LMP2 frontrunners JOTA Sport and Greaves Motorsport, who are separated by just one point in both championship tables. The margins for error will be smaller than ever in what promises to be a dramatic and unmissable curtain call, so weld yourself to that sofa and tune in to our live coverage.

Swedish superstar Felix Rosenqvist wrapped up the FIA Formula 3 European Championship with a stunning performance at the Nurburgring a few weeks ago, but the battle for second place will rage on during this weekend’s season finale, which takes place at the legendary Hockenheim circuit. Antonio Giovinazzi, Charles Leclerc and Jake Dennis are all in with a shot, so make sure you tune in to witness some serious pedal-to-the-metal thrashing from these talented youngsters.

Next, it’s time to level the playing field and bring you a true test of driving skill with some one-make racing courtesy of the Renault Sport Trophy. The cohort of ballistic R.S. 01 pocket rockets makes its way to Jerez in sunny Spain for a last blast of the year, which we will be covering every step of the way to ensure you don’t miss a beat of this ever-exciting series!

As the undisputed home of star-studded, grandiose automotive extravaganzas, you can always rely on the top chaps in rural Sussex to put on a good motorshow. And they certainly didn’t disappoint with this year’s Goodwood Revival, which deployed an impressive menagerie of classic single-seaters, sportscars and pre-war racing monsters in a stunning array of races. Catch our highlights to see incredibly rare legends like the Ferrari 250 GTO taken out of their comfort zone and raced to the very limit!

And you can add some more fun to that crazy mix with highlights of the Supercar Challenge and Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship as well!
