Tommy Bridewell to start today's BSB race at Oulton Park on the front row

Tommy Bridewell will start today's race at Oulton Park on the front row of the grid, after setting the second-fastest time in qualifying on board his Bennetts Suzuki GSX-R1000.

Bridewell progressed from the opening qualifying session in fifth place, before going on to post the fastest time in Q2 to progress to Q3 and fight for position on the front rows of the grid.

Pole position was looking likely in the opening part of the eight-minute session, with Bridewell setting the fastest time early on. He was eventually pushed back to second place, but is happy with his front-row qualifying and the team's potential for the weekend's three races.

Tommy Bridewell:

"It's good to be on the front row. We had a little issue in FP1, so really FP2 was our only session before qualifying, as it was damp this morning, so for us to go out and do a lap-time of 1:34 flat is really good. But I'm also disappointed as I didn't get a clean lap, so I think we can go even quicker. There's more in the bike if we get everything right, and we're proving that the GSX-R is competitive. I'm confident of our race-pace, and if we can get a good start we can get a good result. Everyone knows I'll have a go."

Outlon BSB Qualifying Result: 1. Shane Byrne, 2. Tommy Bridewell (Bennetts Suzuki GSX-R1000), 3. Leon Haslam, 4. Jason O'Halloran, 5. Luke Mossey.
