WRC 6: Official FIA World Rally Championship game now available

WRC 6 includes all rallies and leading teams from 2016 seasonOver 400km of special stages and more than 50 crewsSuper Special Stages reproduced on 1:1 scaleFeatures full FIA World Rally Championship content WRC 6, the official video game of the 2016 FIA World Rally Championship, is released today (7 October).The latest version of the highly successful game is the only one which faithfully reproduces every aspect of the WRC as well as presenting current World Rally Car liveries. Volkswagen Motorsport, Abu Dhabi Total World Rally Team, Hyundai Motorsport and M-Sport World Rally Team are represented in 2016 colours.Gamers can select from more than 400km of new and reworked roads covering almost 70 of the WRC’s legendary special stages.They include classic locations such as the fan favourite Colin’s Crest from the Vargåsen stage at Rally Sweden, the stunning lunar landscapes of El Condor from YPF Rally Argentina, and the mighty roller-coaster jumps of Ouninpohja from Neste Rally Finland.Players can choose to don the race boots of more than 50 drivers, headlined by the leading World Rally Car pilots, such as triple world champion Sébastien Ogier, Thierry Neuville and Kris Meeke.A wide selection of competitors from the championship’s WRC 2 support category, including series leader Elfyn Evans and Esapekka Lappi, are available, along with FIA Junior WRC drivers, headed by newly-crowned champion Simone Tempestini*.New for 2016 is 11 of the WRC’s Super Special Stages, held in city streets or stadiums, which are reproduced on a 1:1 scale. As in real-life, they include sequences of spectacular corners and frequently feature two cars competing side-by-side. Publisher Bigben Interactive and development studio Kylotonn Racing Games has made significant improvements to increase the realism for players, including longer stages on narrower and bumpier roads.WRC 6 was conceived specifically for the latest generation game consoles and PCs, which has allowed the makers to enhance the graphics, audio and car behaviour.Another upgrade sure to be popular with gamers, is the introduction of a split-screen mode, allowing two players to share the same screen while playing simultaneously.As in previous versions, players can select from several primary game modes including:· Career – climb the sport’s ladder from Junior WRC to the headline World Rally Car category· Quick stage – choose a car, stage, weather and time of day and floor the accelerator!· Custom championship – players can design their own challenge and choose and rallies and stages they want to featureFeatures allow gamers to set-up major components such as suspension, brakes and ride height, and experience the heartache of nursing their car to the end of a stage with mechanical problems or crash damage.WRC Promoter managing director Oliver Ciesla believes the game will once again prove a big hit with the sport’s fans.“WRC 6 captures the adventure and challenges posed by the real-life FIA World Rally Championship,” he said. “Indeed, it is the only video game that allows players to experience every single aspect of the WRC.“Classic rallies from across the globe, legendary special stages and unpredictable conditions combine in a high-adventure game where tenths of a second make the difference between winning and losing.” “Significant improvements mean WRC 6 is even more true-to-life than its predecessors.
