Ticket sales up for British GP

With the opening round of the FIA Formula One World Championship fast approaching, Silverstone announced it is on track for yet another sell-out crowd for the 2005 FORMULA1  Foster’s British Grand Prix, with advanced ticket sales considerably ahead of the same point last year.

Following the deadline of Silverstone’s ‘three days for the price of one’ booking offer, nearly 70,000 people had booked three day tickets for this year’s weekend of Grand Prix racing. With the momentum of sales continuing strongly, Silverstone is predicting an early sell-out and is on target to easily match the 2004 Sunday attendance figure of 100,000 (out of a three day total of 195,000).Grandstands are selling out fast, with a limited amount of seats still available at Luffield, Woodcote, Becketts, Stowe and Hanger.

“Silverstone is delighted at the overwhelming support from fans for the 2005 British Grand Prix”, commented Richard Phillips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Limited. “Following the new five year agreement for the British Grand Prix to be held at Silverstone, and with the continued popularity of our pricing structure, this year’s event is set to be a huge success. We are expecting another sell-out crowd in 2005 so strongly recommend fans purchase their tickets as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. If tickets continue to sell at such a high rate, we anticipate nearing capacity in just five weeks time.”

Tickets for the 2005 FORMULA1  Foster’s British Grand Prix on 8 - 10 July are available from £95 for adults (£35 for children), and can be booked online at silverstone-circuit.co.uk or by calling 08704 588 300.
