Dunlop auction update

Matthew’s race for life

London racing driver Matthew Riley will be making his debut in the highly competitive AVO Ginetta championship at Donington Park on April 2nd/3rd thanks to his generosity in bidding in a national online auction in aid of Tsunami relief. The auction for the coveted race drive was organised by Dunlop Tyres, and Matthew successfully outbid his opponents to line up on the Donington grid.

Matthew, 35, is an experienced racer having competed in Formula Ford between 1994 and 1997. Most recently, he has competed in the Citroen 2CV championship, including the famous 24 hour race at Snetterton.

James Bailey of Dunlop said: “Dunlop and its sister companies, together with our employees, raised some $90,000 for the Tsunami Appeal in the weeks following the disaster. This generous contribution from Matthew will help the relief effort, and at the same time he will have a great opportunity in a works entered car at Donington”

Matthew will drive the car normally used as a celebrity car in this championship. Previous celebrity drivers include Vicki Butler-Henderson, Tiff Needell and Boyzone star Shane Lynch.
