Spedeworth South hosts the entertaining Rookie Bangers for their London Championship at Wimbledon Stadium on Sunday, March 20th at 5pm
The all-action Rookie Bangers bring the sport back to its basics, allowing drivers to compete with cheap stripped out old wrecks that will be lucky to see the night out before being turned into a pile of scrap metal at the famous Plough Lane circuit. Large numbers of cars on the grid, plus suspension, tyres and brakes that are long past their prime inevitably lead to some spectacular pile ups as the drivers desperately attempt to steer their MOT failures around the circuit.
The Lightening Rods will join the Rookie Bangers on the night. These Ford Sierra based machines are officially a "non-contact" formula, but their sheer size and speed means that many meet their maker as the drivers power around Plough Lane. Not for faint-hearted drivers or spectators, the Lightenings have really earned their "Frightening Rods" nickname.
Rounding off a great night's entertainment the Rookie Rods take to the track. This budget priced non-contact formula offers the fan in the stands the chance to experience oval racing without having to take out a second mortgage on the house. As a result, many have made the move from stands to circuit and large grids of evenly matched (1300-1400cc) cars ensure an exciting night's racing. With three formulas in action and guaranteed mayhem as the Rookie Bangers go all out to secure the London Championship title Spedeworth South will deliver another great night's racing action at Wimbledon Stadium, Britain's finest stock car racing venue.
