Butcher takes GT3RS for Porsche Open
Experienced racer Keith Butcher will join the Michelin Porsche Open Series this season in a 911GT3RS previously campaigned in the FIA GT Championship by Cirtek Motorsport.Butcher, from Portishead near Bristol, has raced for 14 years in a variety of cars, including Production Saloons, Modified Saloons and more recently in Formula Saloons with an ex-Super Touring Nissan Primera.Now, he has acquired the GT3RS from Cirtek for a switch to the Porsche Open, which kicks off at Snetterton on 9/10 April. When built in 2000, the car was campaigned in the American Le Mans Series by Dick Barbour's team.Also new to the Porsche Open will be racing novice Mark Albutt in the 911GT3 Cup car that Tim Harvey raced in the Porsche Supercup in 1999. More recently, the car has been raced in the Open by Kevin Harrison. Another novice in the Open will be former hillclimber Mike Johnson in his 3.8-litre 911SC. Johnson has spent three years in the Michelin Porsche Club Speed Championship and is now switching to racing.
