Newcomers for Michelin Porsche Club
At least three racing newcomers have already committed to the 2005 Michelin Porsche Club Championship as registrations build towards the opening races of the season at Snetterton on 9/10 April. All three novices are stepping up from various forms of karting. Ben Demetriou (33), Stephen Ebbs (50) and Marcus Clutton (16) will all make race debuts at Snetterton as the championship kicks off with a double-header event.Demetriou will campaign a 911SC and is fulfilling an ambition to race a Porsche. "I've enjoyed karting for several years, but I've always wanted to race a Porsche. I'm really looking forward to the season," he says.Ebbs has experience of Rotax Max karting, but will now move into the Porsche Club Championship with the 911SC previously taken to race victories by Steve Jaques. Clutton, meanwhile, will be the youngest racer in the history of the championship when he races the ex-Adam Egar 911SC at Snetterton, just over a month after his 16th birthday.
