Official Test in Le Mans - 18 drivers packed in one second!
The French circuit of Le Mans has gathered 33 drivers for the second official test of the 2005 Season in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0. Teams and drivers have profited another two days of testing with Kobayashi topping the list of times
Prema Power Team has been the strongest team in the official test at the circuit of Le Mans (France) with the Nippon driver Kamui Kobayashi setting the fastest lap (1.34.869).
The teams will still have two more official tests to prepare the forthcoming season that will start in Zolder (Belgium) on April 30. The Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 will be again one of the most competitive single-seater categories and the best scholarship formula to step into major single-seater formulas like the World Series by Renault.
A quick view over the timesheets gives an idea of the outstanding level of the 2005 drivers in the Eurocup Formula Renault. Competitiveness and equality were seen at first sight with 18 drivers packed in less than one second!
The track conditions during the first day alternate dry and wet conditions but the sun shone during the second day and all drivers were able to improve their lap times except for those drivers that were missing the last day due to the clash with the first race of the Karting Open Masters in Lonato (Italy).
