Satellite television channel Motors TV will continue to show Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship race meetings live and in their entirety to a pan-European audience in 2005.
Motors, available on Sky channel 413, will broadcast live from BTCC race days between 09.00 and 17.00. In addition to the headline-billing BTCC action, the channel will also screen the supporting Formula BMW, Formula Renault, Renault Clio Cup, Porsche Carrera and SEAT Cupra races.
In total, Motors TV will dedicate over 70 hours of live air time to BTCC race days in 2005.
The UK is Motors’ biggest audience, with 7.5 million households able to receive the channel. Motors also broadcasts in a further 25 countries which equate to an additional 36 million subscribers.
Motors’ programme director Frederic Viger said: “It is the third year in a row that we will have broadcast the BTCC. This ensures us of great customer loyalty in the UK. Plus, the entry of Dunlop as the championship sponsor is a real opportunity for the BTCC and the series also remains really strong and highly competitive.
“As for our coverage, the following week we will broadcast twice all the support races. Full replays and highlights of the BTCC itself will also run up until the Saturday before the next race.”
The BTCC, meanwhile, continues to be shown worldwide on other channels across the United States of America, Canada, Greece, Italy, Australia, Thailand and China.
