Farley wins Bangers Figure 8 Final

Colin Farley #7 had a memorable night at Wimbledon Stadium as he powered his Jaguar National Banger through the pack to a storming win in the World Figure 8 Final, on April 3rd, ahead of a field of very tough competitors.

Farley drew pole position in the pre-race grid selection and steered his Jaguar to the front of the 35-car pack to await battle to commence. The bumpers went in with a vengeance as soon as the green flag fell and cars were rapidly smashed out of contention on the oval circuit or in massive T-bone collisions as they roared across the centre of the figure 8 crossover.

Farley was perused by a very hard charging Dave King #206 who had worked his way from the back of the pack in short order and must have looked very threatening in Farley's rear view mirror. As the pack were ground to scrap metal the star men began to make their presence know with the current oval track World Champion Keith 'Maverick' Painter  #46 pushing his way through the field.

A mid track crash resulted in a fire brought out the red flags for a race stoppage. On the restart Farley again pulled into the lead as King was shoved into the fence and out of the race by a storming Maverick. Farley kept his cool under attack and wound the laps down to take the win ahead of Maverick and Mike Kilford #202.

After a night of full metal contact only 8 cars limped out for the demolition derby finale. The automotive blows landed thick and fast as soon as the green flag fell, but it was Farley who battered his way to victory by battering Kilford to a halt and ending an excellent night's racing action at Plough Lane.
