INGRAM CONFIDENT OF PACEAn in form Jon Ingram will take the start line for the first round of the Kwik-Fit Pirelli British Rally Championship (BRC), the International Rally of Wales on Saturday 23rd April. Ingram eager to get his British Rally Championship underway, will be looking for a similar performance to that he has experienced on his last two rally outings. The Altrincham driver has won the Wold Construction North Humberside in convincing style with a comfortable margin. While suffering severe back pain on the Astra National Rally, Jon also claimed another win and a thoroughly enjoyable battle with fellow BRC contender Sebastian Ling, as they both prepared for the International Rally of Wales. The two wins taking at the wheel of a Ford Focus World Rally Car, the wins also ending a fifteen year sabbatical."We have been out of the sport and winning ways for a few years, to win the North Humberside and Astra Stages National Rallies has given us loads of confidence for the start of the BRC. If we can get a similar finish in Wales we can't complain."Ingram will contest the BRC qualifier with experienced Mid Wales co-driver, Shaun O'Gorman. Shaun also partnered Jon to their North Humberside victory. The Newtown co-driver's experience will also help Ingram's pace throughout the Welsh Forest event."While we have had two good results on our last two rallies, we cannot rule out the level of competition within the BRC. I would like to see us among the top five come Sunday."The International Rally of Wales takes place on Saturday 23rd/ Sunday 24th April. The Dolgellau based rally will use classic Mid Wales forests of Dyfi, PantperthogGartheiniog before an overnight halt, then venturing further south into more demanding forests of Hafren, Myherin and Taliesin.
