Broster lines up for Porsche Open
British GT racer Colin Broster is the latest racer to enter the Michelin Porsche Open Series at Castle Combe on Monday (2 May).Broster and Aaron Scott are entering the GT Cup class of the British GT Championship at Croft on 7/8 May and Broster is using the Open race as a test day in his 911 GT3 Cup car. Run by ABG Motorsport and sponsored by Cadwallader, SOR Trailers and FTS Hatswell, this is the car in which Mark Cole won the 2002 Porsche Cup."The point of doing the Open race at Castle Combe is that we have just had the gearbox rebuilt and hopefully will have new Proflex dampers fitted, so we need a bit of a shakedown run," says Broster, who was three times a podium finisher in British GT during 2004."Once the gearbox has been run in during qualifying I hope to have a bit of fun chasing Richard Chamberlain and Rupert Lewin. I reckon I need to take 1.5s off my lap time from last year to compete, and if the car handles as we hope it will, we shouldn't be far away!"
