Jordan dominates at Croft
Andrew Jordan was in dominant form in Junior Rallycross at Croft (North Yorkshire) on Monday (2 May), with victory in two heats and the final of the opening round of the new Super Series Rallycross. The 15-year old Andrew from Sutton Coldfield set the pace throughout the meeting in a strong field of 18 junior racers all competing in identical Minis. In the opening heat he scored a dominant win, finishing ahead of his arch-rival Kyle Orr in the process. In the second heat, he started from the back of the grid but flew though the field to take third place half way around the opening lap. Unfortunately, he then spun while trying to take the lead and dropped to the back of the pack. Undeterred, Andrew then won the final heat to secure pole position for the all-important final.Just to make things even more difficult, a heavy rainstorm arrived just before the cars lined up for the final and that left the track incredibly slippery. But Andrew judged the conditions perfectly to score a commanding victory. "That was a very good performance in very tricky conditions," said Andrew's father Mike, who had rushed back from racing in France on Sunday before travelling to Yorkshire with Andrew early on Monday morning.Andrew Jordan is supported by Team Dynamics and the Bill Gwynne Rally School.
