2006 Carrera Cup spec unveiled
The full technical specification for the all-new 911 GT3 Cup (Type 997) car for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2006 and beyond has been unveiled. The new car, which will be at the core of Porsche Cars GB's motorsport programme for the next three years, was officially unveiled at a reception at Porsche Cars GB at Reading on Saturday 30 April.A six-speed sequential gearbox is one of the major changes over the specification of the type 996 model, which is currently in its third season of Carrera Cup GB. An increase in power to 400bhp and cockpit adjustable brake bias are among many other enhancements.The ordering process has also been defined and initial submissions of interest are invited from teams and drivers considering Carrera Cup for their 2006 racing programmes. Expression of interest can be made by e-mail to: carreracupgb@porsche.co.ukVehicle order forms for the 18 cars being produced for the Carrera Cup in 2006 will be issued on 10 October 2005 and the order book will open on 17 October. Cars will be sold on a strictly first-come, first-served basis, with delivery of the cars scheduled for March 2006.
