Beechdean Motorsport were at Snetterton on Sunday for round 3 of the increasingly popular Britcar Endurance Championship, a gruelling 5 hour endurance race. In amongst some of the UK's most exotic GT cars, Beechdean Motorsport ran it's M3 powered Supermini with drivers Aaron Scott (aaronscott.co.uk) and Nigel Greensall.
The team started the second of two Britcar races from 3rd position (in class, 16TH OVERALL) on the grid. Aaron started the race and immediately moved the car into the lead. With Aaron and Nigel working exceptionally well, the team dominated the race and overcame a few minor problems to win their class comfortably and finish in a stunning 6th place overall.
Aaron, who drove for nearly 4 hours of the 5 hour race said, "This result is fantastic for the team who have worked so hard over the past weeks. I drove 2 very long stints and feel pretty tired now, however the car was good and we could be consistent throughout the race. Thanks to Nigel too as he also drove a very good stint. We are all looking forward to the rest of the season."
Beechdean Motorsport were also in action on the Saturday in the first Britcar and the 3 hour Production S1 Class races. The team also won their class in the Production class race (2nd overall) in the teams BMW M3, driven by team boss Andrew Howard, Team engineer John Cockburn and Aaron Scott. Aaron also finished 3rd in class in the first Britcar race, a 90 minute sprint. A further class win was thwarted by a delay with a last minute pitstop. During the race Aaron had climbed as high as 3rd place overall and comfortably lead the class 3 pack.
Team boss Andrew Howard said, "I am delighted with our weekends work. The whole team did a superb job, I would like to thank our team sponsors Beechdean Dairies and Royal Purple Oils. It’s great to get the results both as a team manager and as a driver."
The next race for the team is at Brands Hatch on June 25 & 26.
