Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Piloti (Piloti.com) announced today a partnership that names the Westlake Village, Calif.-based company the "Official Shoe Supplier of the No. 2 Team Mopar Dodge Viper Competition Coupe". Piloti, Italian for "racing driver", joins the Northwest-based team starting with the next round of the 2008 SCCA SPEED World Challenge GT season at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on July 19. The NayKid Racing team, led by team manager Fred Lux, will utilize Piloti's DTM style of shoe for its at-track wear for the remainder of the 2008 season. The Piloti DTM, developed with years of experience in both motorsports and the athletic shoe industry, is currently available for purchase by the public at select retailers and online at Piloti.com.
The addition of Piloti comes on the heels of what is one of Lux's strongest season starts. In the two SPEED GT races in which she has competed thus far, Lux has bettered her career-best Series finishes in both events. She opened the season at the Grand Prix of Long Beach (Calif.) finishing with a ninth-place result, at the time her best finish in the road car-based Series. In the next event, held at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah, Lux finished fifth after racing near the front all day.
