Seven Porsche entries will take on Chang International Circuit this weekend at the 2025 Porsche Sprint Trophy Thailand curtain raiser as Thailand Super Series (TSS) gets underway.
Jointly launched by TSS and Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific in 2018, Porsche Sprint Trophy Thailand provides a platform for Porsche entries in Thailand Super Series to compete for titles from Porsche simultaneously with the TSS Championship.
For the first time in Thailand Super Series, this current generation of Porsche 911 GT3 R will be in action as two highly experienced teams aim for glory.
AAS Motorsport by EBM fields 2019 GT World Challenge Asia Pro-Am champion Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak alongside 2024 GTD Pro IMSA winner Laurin Heinrich, making a formidable pairing. Inthraphuvasak made guest appearances in the series last season, winning two races in the GT4 category.
B-Quik Absolute Racing has the second Porsche entry in the GT3 field with the well renowned GT3 racer Henk Kiks being joined in the #26 Porsche 911 GT3 R by the championship’s 2022 GT3 victor Sandy Stuvik.
Simon Chan returns for another year of GTM category competition for Fire Monkey Motorsport in the #10 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The Hong-Kong driver now enters his third season in TSS and in 2024 also raced in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia at Marina Bay Street Circuit.
In the GT4 Pro-Am class, Kantadhee Kusiri will be aiming to defend his 2024 title, partnered by TSS regular Kmik Karnasuta for AAS Motorsport. The Thai outfit’s second Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport sees Dechathorn Phuakkarawut alongside Thanapattra Sutthisawang as the squad aims to fight for the teams’ crown.
The Am class welcomes back Sathapond Veerachure and Iaro Razanakoto as they form B-Quik Absolute Racing’s #32 line-up. FEYNLAB Racing will be represented by Todd James Kingsford in the #98 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport, with team and driver both debuting in the championship.
Chang International Circuit, which is an FIA Grade 1 track measuring 4.54-kilometres, provides overtaking opportunities into Turns 1 and 3, with a more technical final part of the lap making up an excellent all-round challenge. With rain forecast and high temperatures expected, the drivers will have to be at the top of their game to compete in such challenging conditions.
After the opening round in Buriram, the championship heads to the streets of Bangsaen in July, where Porsche Carrera Cup Asia races in support, before back-to-back events at Sepang International Circuit. Buriram will also host the finale in November to round out an action-packed campaign.
Vutthikorn Inthraphuvasak, AAS Motorsport by EBM: “I’m delighted to be back racing in Thailand Super Series and can’t wait for the season ahead! Together with the team, we’ll be working hard to deliver some great performances on track.”
Laurin Heinrich, AAS Motorsport by EBM: “It will be my first time visiting and competing in Thailand so I’m very excited to be going to Buriram! We’ve been preparing well as we aim for a strong start to the campaign to create a solid base to fight for wins and podiums throughout the year.”
Kmik Karnasuta, AAS Motorsport: “I’m feeling confident coming into the new campaign and ready to give it everything to help Kantadhee defend his title. The GT4 grid looks brilliant this year with 13 cars, and the squad have two strong entries which can compete for the championship.”
Kantadhee Kusiri, AAS Motorsport: “Everyone at the team has been working flat out during the off-season as we aim to repeat the success of 2024. That’s our sole objective for the year and I believe that we’ve got what it takes to go the distance again!”
Dechathorn Phuakkarawut, AAS Motorsport: “It’s an honour to compete with such a prestigious and iconic name in AAS Motorsport. I’m grateful to have this opportunity and will give it my best to help the team deliver more excellent performances.”
Thanapattra Sutthisawang, AAS Motorsport: “This year marks my first time driving in the GT4 category, which will be a big challenge as I have to adapt to a new car and team. However, I believe alongside my experienced teammates and crew, we’ll be able to score some positive results.”
Sandy Stuvik, B-Quik Absolute Racing: “We’ve enjoyed pre-season testing and it’s great to find the limits of the new car. I’m excited for the new campaign, to be working with Henk is a pleasure and I can’t wait for our first race together this weekend.”
Henk Kiks, B-Quik Absolute Racing: “Testing has given us a great opportunity to get up to speed with the Porsche 911 GT3 R and it’s amazing in every department. Sandy is a proven race winner and it’s brilliant to have him as a teammate as we aim to chase victories in 2025.”
Sathapond Veerachure, B-Quik Absolute Racing: “I’m happy that the team has given me the opportunity to compete in Thailand Super Series this year. I’m beginning to feel confident with the car and we know how competitive the grid is going to be this season. My teammate is very skilled and together I’m optimistic that we can achieve great results.”
Iaro Razanakoto, B-Quik Absolute Racing: “To be Madagascar’s first GT driver is a great honour and I can’t wait to get out on track this weekend. It’ll be amazing to be back in a race car after my accident in Bangsaen cut my 2024 season short, but the support from the fans has been tremendous. We know wins are possible and that is what we’ll aspire to do in 2025.”
Simon Chan, Fire Monkey Motorsport: “I’m now heading into my third year in the championship, which is an excellent competitive environment for an Am-class driver. The expectation for this campaign is to continue to grow along with the team. We showed strong pace during the opening test day, and we’ll be looking to build on this throughout the season.”
Alexandre Gibot, Manging Director Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific Ltd.: “It’s great to see seven Porsche entries in Thailand Super Series across three different categories. We’re expecting an exciting campaign with the introduction of the two Porsche 911 GT3 R in the championship joining the 911 GT3 Cup and 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. While we will be looking to fight for the GT3 and GTM titles, we’re also aiming to defend our GT4 title, which was picked up in 2024 by Kantadhee Kusiri. 2025 is going to be a year packed full of action and brilliant racing.”
