The SSVs

Accessible, fun, and high-performing—the SSV has established itself as one of the best category to experience the Africa Eco Race adventure!

New for 2026: the creation of the SSV Series class complements the existing T3 and T4 classes! This new class is open to near-production vehicles, with only minimal safety modifications required. A perfect opportunity for enthusiasts to enter the race with a more budget-friendly vehicle. A real springboard for discovering rally-raid at a lower cost, in a spirit of adventure and controlled challenge.

More economical than a traditional car: the SSV allows you to take part in a legendary rally-raid at a significantly lower cost.

More fun to drive: light, agile, and made for the sand, it offers a unique driving sensation on African tracks.

More freedom: the specific regulations for SSVs have been revised to offer more flexibility for participating vehicles, while maintaining strict safety standards.

Whether you’re a beginner seeking your first major challenge or an experienced driver looking for an adrenaline rush, the SSV is the perfect gateway to the legendary Lac Rose.

The “Legend Minute”: Stephanie Rowe, First Woman to Finish Malle Moto

The Africa Eco Race 2025 was the scene of a historic achievement: Stéphanie Rowe became the first woman to complete the event in the demanding MOTUL XTREME RIDER “Malle Moto” category.

An extreme challenge that she rose to brilliantly, completing every stage of the rally and securing an impressive 42nd place overall.

By entering the most committed category of rally-raid — Malle Moto, with absolutely no assistance — Stéphanie demonstrated incredible mental strength and admirable resilience. Alone in the desert, she rode her KTM 450 EXCF day after day, personally managing mechanical maintenance, navigation, and logistics. A performance that commands deep respect.

Her journey perfectly embodies the spirit of the Africa Eco Race: authenticity, pushing one’s limits, and human adventure.

Following a serious accident recently, the entire Africa Eco Race team sends Stéphanie their warmest thoughts and wishes her a full and speedy recovery.

Her strength, courage, and determination continue to inspire us. We can’t wait to see her back, writing new chapters in the legend of rally-raid.
