Bentley celebrates 80 years of car production in Crewe, honouring eight decades of craftsmanship at the home of Bentley
Unique Continental GTC marks the milestone, featuring a new Supernova Purple Ombre finish and bespoke design details

Bentley Motors has marked 80 years of craftsmanship in Crewe with a spectacular gathering of more than 100 customer Bentleys spanning the brand’s history. Joined by the Bentley Drivers Club celebrating its 90th anniversary, the event also unveiled a unique Continental GTC in bespoke Purple Supernova Ombre, created to honour the exceptional artisanship of Bentley’s Dream Factory.
For 80 years, Bentley Motors' headquarters in Crewe has been home to the marque's unique blend of craftsmanship, innovation and extraordinary attention to detail. Since the first Bentley rolled from the Pyms Lane production line in 1946, generations of skilled colleagues have handcrafted the world's most sought-after luxury cars, combining techniques passed down through decades with the latest advances in engineering and manufacturing.
Marking this milestone, 107 Bentleys owned by members of the Bentley Drivers Club returned to the Home of Bentley, lining Pyms Lane in chronological order of production. Beginning with EXP3, the first Bentley ever delivered to a customer, and culminating with a 2025 Flying Spur Speed, the remarkable display represented every significant era in the marque’s history – from the W.O Bentley cars and the Derby years through to the modern Crewe-built range, with everything from iconic Blowers to today’s Bentayga featured in the line-up.
Owners travelled across the world to reunite their cars with the place where generations of Bentley motor cars have been handcrafted, celebrating more than a century of Bentley heritage alongside 80 years of craftsmanship in Crewe. Today, the same commitment to excellence continues to define every Bentley built at the company’s Dream Factory in Cheshire.

Originally constructed in 1938 to build the iconic Rolls-Royce Merlin aero engines before becoming the home of Bentley’s vehicle manufacturing operations, the Crewe site has continually evolved, while remaining rooted in its heritage. Eight decades later, the historic campus is nearing the completion of its most significant transformation yet, as Bentley continues to develop its next-generation Dream Factory – a digital, flexible and innovative manufacturing facility that will produce the Bentley’s current and future products and preserve the craftsmanship that has defined the brand for generations.
A one-off Continental GTC to celebrate 80 years of craftsmanship in Crewe
To commemorate 80 years of craftsmanship in Crewe, Bentley has created a unique one-off vehicle through Mulliner, the marque's personal commissioning division. Finished in an exclusive Supernova Purple Ombre paint developed especially for the occasion by Bentley's Paint Shop and CMF/Bespoke teams, the exterior transitions seamlessly from Supernova Purple to Supernova Purple Dark, complemented by a bespoke '80' side graphic with a reverse ombré effect.
The commemorative theme continues through the contrasting wheel finishes and into the handcrafted cabin, where embroidered '80' headrests and a bespoke airbrushed fascia graphic depict the iconic Design Studio building alongside a celebration of eight decades of Bentley car manufacture in Crewe. Created exclusively to mark this milestone, the vehicle serves as a contemporary expression of the craftsmanship, innovation and attention to detail that have defined Bentley's Home in Crewe for the past 80 years.
Today, Crewe remains the heart of Bentley, bringing together design, research and development, manufacturing and commercial operations on a single integrated campus. Over recent years, the company has reimagined the site for the next age of vehicle production with a range of new facilities including the Design Studio, Engineering Technical Centre, Excellence Centre for Quality and Launch, Integrated Logistics Centre and the Paint Shop, officially opened by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal earlier this month. Ahead of the global launch of Torcal, the next Bentley, work continues to transform the oldest building on-site into the assembly facility for the company’s first electric car, due to be launched in September.
