Scars Racing Ducati Celebrate Double British Supersport Victory

What a weekend for Scars Racing Ducati at Cadwell Park!

The team enjoyed another hugely successful round of the ZYN British Superbike Championship, with Luke Stapleford securing a fantastic double victory in the Quattro Plant British Supersport Championship and extending his Championship lead to an impressive 61 points.

It was a weekend full of hard work, determination and some fantastic racing and one that everyone involved with Scars Racing Ducati can be incredibly proud of.

Luke showed strong pace throughout qualifying and delivered when it mattered, putting the Scars Racing Ducati on pole position for both races.

Race One – A Brilliant Victory

Luke made a great start to Sunday’s Sprint race, although the opening laps were certainly eventful, with several riders battling hard for the lead.

Keeping his focus, Luke worked his way to the front and began to build a small gap over the chasing pack. From there, he controlled the race brilliantly to take a well-deserved victory and extend his Championship advantage.

Race Two – Victory Number Seven

Luke started the main feature race from pole once again, but with dark clouds overhead, the weather quickly became a factor.

The race was red flagged before being restarted, and Luke initially took a measured approach to the tricky track conditions. Once he had found his rhythm, however, he began pushing hard and carving his way through the field.

He soon found himself battling Championship rival Jack Kennedy for the lead. Luke eventually made his move to the front and then produced a superb display of pace, setting fastest lap after fastest lap on his way to another impressive victory.

The win was Luke’s seventh of the season, completing a memorable double at one of his favourite circuits.

Luke Stapleford

“I’ve always liked coming to Cadwell Park and this weekend was extremely special.

We’ve not had many double victories this year, so it’s always great to achieve that. A huge thank you to the team for all their hard work.

“It’s so important to keep working towards the Championship, but there’s nothing better than winning at tracks you really like!

“I think we got lucky with the weather this weekend and I just had to suss out the circuit over the opening few laps before I could push hard and get to the front.

“The races were great this weekend and I can’t thank everyone involved enough.”

Leigh Finlay – Team Owner

“Luke rode exceptionally well this weekend and everyone worked really well together as a team. We felt confident with the set-up we found, and this helped us hit the ground running.

“I’d like to thank Luke for always digging deep and working hard, plus the entire team for the endless hours they put in to make all of this happen.

“We’re looking forward to Assen now and hopefully getting some extra points there.”
