It’s all set up to be a blockbuster finale to the 2026 Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship this weekend at Brands Hatch, with only 22 points separating William Antrobus, Cameron Pratt Thompson and Harry Gamble in the battle for the PRO title.
The three contenders took a win apiece during an action-packed penultimate round at Donington Park to set up the three-way decider. Jamie Caudle is the clear title favourite in the AM class meanwhile with a near 50-point lead, however three drivers could still overtake him.
While the titles may have been won already, there’s still plenty to play for in the Ginetta Junior Championship powered by Sunoco Race Fuels as the 2026 season comes to a close with three races on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit this weekend (26/27 September).
Lewis Goff (R Racing) wrapped up both the overall and rookie class titles at Donington Park last time out with his ninth victory of the year. With that pressure off his shoulders this weekend, he’ll be looking to sign off the season in style and join an elite group of drivers to have won ten or more races in a single campaign.
Below Goff, the competition couldn’t be fiercer for second position in the championship. Five drivers are separated by only 73 points heading into the final three races of the season, with Harrison Mackie (Elite Motorsport) currently leading the battle for vice-champion honours.
Mackie, the highest placed driver to have entered 2026 with no previous Ginetta Junior races under his belt, picked up a double podium finish at Donington to take his tally up to 11 for the season. That total includes three race victories, the most recent of which came at Zandvoort.
Melvin Kalousdian (R Racing) heads to Brands Hatch only 34 points behind Mackie after some brilliant results in recent events, with three consecutive pole positions and four race wins in a row. That’s shot the Red Bull Junior Team driver up the points standings into contention for a top three finish.
The other in-form driver on the grid going into the finale is Riley Cranham (R Racing). He scored his second win of the season at Donington, taking him to seven podiums for the year, and is currently on a fantastic run of finishing outside the top five only once in the last 11 races.
Completing the contenders for second in the standings are Harry Bartle (Pace Performance) and Jesse Phillips (R Racing). Bartle’s best result of 2025 came at Brands Hatch, which he hopes will be a good omen for this weekend as he aims to add to his two wins so far, while fellow podium regular Phillips has his sights set on a maiden victory.
Jacob Ashcroft has faced a tough run of results recently, but the Croft race-winner is more than capable of getting on the podium this weekend. Likewise his Elite Motorsport team-mate Devon Hagelen, with the Ginetta Junior scholar having secured his maiden overall podium at Snetterton last month.
Sebastien Leusch has made a real breakthrough across the last couple of weekends, celebrating three podium finishes in the last five races. Max Murray, another driver with newly crowned Teams’ champions R Racing, picked up two podiums earlier in the season.
Only 12 points separate Noah Young and Josh Watts in the battle to be the highest-placed Performance One Motorsport driver this year. Watts secured a memorable maiden race victory back at Oulton Park, while Young is eyeing a maiden top three result in the championship.
The Freshmans Cup honours are up for grabs this weekend, with Dominic Darling (Performance One) leading by only four points from Bailey Doughty (MK Racing). Doughty has won the class 11 times this season, while Darling has eight wins and heads into the finale off the back of his best-ever results at Donington.
Fellow Freshman class competitor Ethan Brass (MK Racing) celebrated his maiden top ten finish at Donington, a milestone also achieved by Louis Radcliffe (R Racing). They were part of the fierce midfield battles alongside the likes of Addison Smith (MDD Motorsport), Henry Cameron (Elite Motorsport) and Anesu Maphumulo (RABsport Racing).
Ian Daniscka and Maxim Kharuk will each contest their third event of the season this weekend as part of a bumper entry from Elite Motorsport, which also includes a driver set to make his debut; Finlay Lines, son of former Ginetta GT4 SuperCup class champion Stewart.
