Adrian Newey is leaving McLaren Mercedes to take up the post of Chief Technical Officer at Red Bull.  Newey joined  McLaren in 1998 and oversaw the team taking two drivers’ championship titles

According to The Guardian newspaper Newey wanted a 2.3m pay increase on his current 3.5m salary which the team felt was not justified
