Voting has started for the BBC East Midlands Sports Personality of the Year and Maria Costello needs your vote once more as she faces tough competition. Listeners to BBC Local Radio have come up with the following finalists:

Ellen MacArthur - world record breaking sailor who became fastest to sail solo around the world

Martin Corry - Leicester rugby player who became England captain

Maria Costello - fastest woman around TT circuit and first solo woman to make the podium on the Isle of Man

Dean Barrick - player manager of Hucknall Town who got them to their first FA Trophy final in 2005

"It's so fantastic to be mentioned in a line up with Ellen MacArthur. Wouldn't it be fantastic to put both my county and motorcycle racing on the map by winning this award and its a public vote again which is just so exciting." Added a smiling Maria.
