Dear friends,

I experienced one of the most important moments of my career yesterday evening as I was announced as the 'Autosport Rookie of the Year' at the British Autosport Awards ceremony. To win such a prestigious award in front of so many influential people in the motorsport industry was truly a wonderful achievement, both for myself and for Portugal.

 This award is highly regarded within the world of motorsport industry. However, while my impressive results in the Jordan-Toyota this season gained me the nomination for this award I would not have won it had it not been for the votes of friends and fans, of which I am so grateful. It was their immense support that secured me the award.

When I was called on to the stage to receive this trophy I felt so proud to be Portuguese and to be able to represent Portugal.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you for both your vote and your continuing support.
