IFM - new technology for 2008

Formula Master’s 2008 single-seater race car is leading the way, with up-to-the-minute technology used by the top tier of motorsport.

The international Series has ensured next year’s car will run with top-class components such as the new ECU/GCU Marvel 8 – version 2008, which includes data acquisition and is also featured on the 2008 GP2 car.

The Formula Master single-seater will include a new gearbox and clutch actuators as part of the Magneti Marelli hydraulic system, placed inside the car’s gear bell-housing, allowing for a more integrated design and increased protection for the system. In addition, the actuator has been placed up to the gearbox and mechanically connected to the selector shaft.

The Honda K20A engine, featuring lay-out revisions to reduce weight, will include a new air intake system with four dry-by-wire throttles, new pistons, conrods dry sump, oil pump and water pump.

“We have received great interest from important teams currently taking part in GP2, World Series by Renault and F3 Euroseries due to the technical content of next year’s car and the media success of the Series’ inaugural season,” said Mauro Sipsz.

“Formula Master’s objective remains clear; to provide an affordable and high-profile option for upcoming drivers, training them for the higher echelons of motorsport. The Series’ single-seater is designed with that in mind.”
