Brands Hatch season finale race report
An incredible 51 cars took part in the Elise Trophy season finale at Brands Hatch last weekend. For the first time we ran separate grids for class A (production) and classes B/C (modified/super modified) cars.
In the class A scratch race we were treated to a gripping 3-way lights to flag battle for the lead between Michael Edwards, Paul Quinn & Jamie Stanley. In the end Edwards held on to take his first class victory, with just 0.5s covering the top 3 over the line. Gavin Kirby finished off an excellent season by taking victory inthe class A handicap race.
In the class B/C races Chris Randall proved his credentials as the class of the field by taking victories in both races.
Our inaugural season really has been incredibly successful, with full entry lists at our first 7 rounds and increasing numbers of drivers signing up for 2008.
We're already looking forward to next season, when the Elise Trophy continues to move from strength to strength with a 2008 calendar that once again includes visits to top circuits throughout the UK. Highlights include supporting A1GP at Brands Hatch in May, plus a repeat trip to Spa Francorchamps:
