Motors TV celebrates another superb season of motorsport with a very special series of programmes during Christmas week. The ‘High Speed Television’ channel has selected the best seven races from seven of our featured championships, bringing fans the crème de la crème of 2007’s racing action, on two wheels and four. This programme is not-to-be-missed and airs from Saturday 22 to Friday 28 December every evening at 9pm.
Saturday 22 December – World Superbike Championship, Round 6, Assen
The two races on 29 April had everything – drama, suspense and a photo-finish, nine thousands of a second separating first and second at the flag in race two!
Sunday 23 December – DTM, Round 9, Barcelona
The penultimate round of the year proved to be a tipping point in the battle between Audi and Mercedes in the world’s most prestigious touring car championship. Whilst the race provided Jamie Green with a fully deserved first DTM win, there was controversy behind when, with a couple of laps remaining, unprecedented scenes were unfolding!
Monday 24 December – F3 Euroseries, Round 10, Hockenheim
The last round of the season was the title decider between two of the hottest young prospects in the sport, Romain Grosjean and Sebastien Buemi. Who would follow in the footsteps of the likes of Lewis Hamilton by winning the championship and taking a huge step on the ladder to Formula One superstardom?
Tuesday 25 December – ALMS, Petit Le Mans
Round 11 of the American Le Mans Series was Petit Le Mans, along with Sebring the most famous endurance event in the US. The opportunity for an epic battle between Audi and Porsche was in place, and neither disappointed in a nail biting race only decided in the final laps.
Wednesday 26 December – V8 Supercars, Bathurst
The legendary Bathurst played host to Round 9 of the V8 Supercars Championship in October and the 1000 mile race was as thrilling as ever as the race for the title was turned on its head.
Thursday 27 December – Champ Car World Series, Round 6, Mont-Tremblant
The best race of Champ Car’s 2007 season saw a host of exciting new talent showing the way to multiple champion Sebastien Bourdais. Mont-Tremblant won universal approval from drivers and fans alike, and with six lead changes during the race, it’s easy to see why!
Friday 28 December – Le Mans 24 Hours
A week of the best races of 2007 concludes with THE best race of 2007. The most famous motor race in the world was another classic as manufacturer giants Audi and Peugeot went head-to-head for the first time. A race of surprises, crashes, appalling weather and close class-battles throughout the field made for another spectacular event at La Sarthe.
