Westfield Sportscars Launches New Racing Car at London Motorsports Show

Stand No. 62 at Excel – 10am on 8th December

Midlands based Westfield Sportscars Ltd., will be launching its new racing car at the London Motorsports Show on December 8 and 9 at Excel to celebrate the company’s Jubilee year.

The AeroRace car has a lightweight chassis based on the top of the range Westfield Sport S.  Combined with a lightweight race loom and bodywork, the vehicle achieves a dry weight of only 520kg.

A 2 litre, 170 bhp Ford Zetec engine ensures spontaneous power and performance.  Using Webcon throttle bodies the engine delivers peak power at 6000 rpm, and a very flat torque curve delivers over 140Nm from 3000rpm upwards.  0-60mph is achieved in 5 seconds.

The standard vehicle specification focuses on safety and performance with an FIA roll cage, fully plumbed in fire extinguisher, four pot aluminium billet brakes with adjustable brake bias, revolution 13” alloy wheels with Dunlop race specification tyres, 5 point race harness, lightweight carbon effect dash and front wings.  A catalyst exhaust ensuring compliance with future regulation changes, keeps costs down.  High quality components are used throughout to provide a highly competitive package.

The AeroRace car is priced at £15495 inc. VAT for a fully built vehicle, or £13495 inc. VAT for a comprehensive kit for self build.

The new racing car is designed for the BARC Westfield Sports Car one make race series and will run as Class A in the 2008 Championship. This highly competitive Championship runs twelve rounds as part of the Dunlop Great and British Race Series, and offers some of the best value racing in the UK.   Including the purchase of a factory built car, one year’s competitive racing in 2008 can be had for as little as £18,000!

Westfield Sportscars produces over four hundred cars a year for driving enthusiasts the world over. Other models include the SEi range, the XTR - a new generation of minimalist road legal ultra modern sports car and the reborn Westfield XI Sportscar that is based on the Lotus XI racer of the 1950’s.

The 2007 London Motorsport Show which covers all disciplines of motorsport from Karting through to Formula One is a must for any motor racing enthusiast. Doors open each day from 10am and the show closes at 6.30pm on Saturday with the rallycross event finishing at around 8pm and 3.30pm on Sunday.
