A new company based in Leeds, Hammond UK Racing will debut at the Karting Show at Autosport International, 10-13 January 2008, to officially launch the team - Visit stand K531 at the NEC, Birmingham, for free registration and to benefit from a 10% discount on purchases made at Autosport International.
HUK Racing has been established with the pure aim of assisting newcomers to karting with sourcing equipment, plus support in preparation and driver training. So if you need some help to get started in karting, just visit the Karting Show, where HUK will unveil its equipment sourcing service, which aims to help new karters with the daunting task of choosing and purchasing good quality second-hand karting equipment. After discussing your requirements, HUK will utilise their contacts, knowledge and buying power to source the best equipment for the best price.
The HUK Racing team will be introduced, with secured works backing from John Mills Engineering, importers of the BRM Racing chassis, guaranteeing the use of BRM equipment for 2008. The team is set to compete in both BRDC Stars of Tomorrow and the PF International TVKC club championship.
Amy Ward, aged 14 from Pontefract, is confirmed as the works backed driver for the Mini Max class alongside Luke Whitehead, aged 12 from Sunk Island, East Yorkshire, while the team is looking to fill their last vacancy for the Junior Max class. Although boasting comprehensive race team facilities, HUK also aims to help customers run their own karts competitively, helping to save time and money and enhance their enjoyment of the sport.
Formed in September 2007, HUK Racing is the brainchild of Steve Hammond and Mark Ward. Steve commented: “Mark and I have worked in the same field of karting for some years so we decided to join forces and we’ve been busy preparing to launch the company for the past six months. We have visited the Karting Area at Autosport International in previous years and been impressed at the focus on the karting industry. With karting now boasting its own dedicated show within Autosport International, we decided the Karting Show was the perfect place to unveil the team and introduce all of our products and services.”
Autosport International opens to the general public on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 January 2008. Tickets are £28.00 per adult including entry to the 55-minute adrenalin-pumping Live Action Arena; children’s tickets, for those aged five to 15 years, are £18.50.
The elite Paddock Pass is available at £34.00 for adults and £24.50 for children. The Paddock Pass gives exclusive access to the Driver Signing Area; access to the Live Action Arena Paddock back stage; priority seating and fast-track entry to the Live Action Arena, and a show guide lanyard including pictures of celebrities and a detailed floor plan of the show. There are a limited number of Paddock Passes available, so book early to avoid disappointment.
