Team RAC & Onslow-Cole part company

Team RAC have announced today that Tom Onslow-Cole will not be driving one of the teams BMW 320si in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in 2008.

Onslow-Cole was signed by Team RAC in January of this year to drive alongside Colin Turkington, and ended the season in 10th place in the overall driver’s championship.

The 20 year old New Malden driver recorded podium finishes on four occasions including his first ever BTCC win at Snetterton in July.

Dick Bennetts, Team RAC Team Principal, said: “Team RAC would like to thank Tom for his efforts with us in 2007. To record a race win in his debut season is an achievement he should be very proud of, and we wish Tom all the best for his future racing career.

“Team RAC are committed to putting together a team capable of winning the British Touring Car Championship in 2008. We learnt a great deal in 2007 about our new BMW 320si car, and believe we can really put together a challenge for the top honours next year. We are currently reviewing our driver options and will announce details of these in due course.”

Team RAC will be embarking on a winter test programme early next year with their BMW's. They feel there is more to come yet as they only had two days of testing during the 2007 season on the series Dunlop control tyre.
