Motors TV is proud to announce it has secured the exclusive rights to provide LIVE coverage of the FIM Motocross MX2 World Championship for the UK market for the next two years, thanks to a major agreement with Youthstream, the official promoter of the series.
The terms of the deal means Motors TV will not only show the MX2 races Live, but will also show full repeats of the MX1 races later in the week, and delayed coverage of the Motocross of Nations.
The FIM Motocross World Championship is the latest addition to the channel’s motocross line up which has built over the last few years and already includes US AMA Motocross, the Belgian series and the Freestyle magazine M80.
“This is a major addition to the Motocross line-up we’ve been building over the last few years and MX2 LIVE immediately jumps to the top of the list. The series is incredibly spectacular and boasts a real interest for the UK market as many young British riders are involved” said Frédéric Viger, Motors TV’s Head of programming & Acquisitions.
Mr. Giuseppe Luongo, Youthstream President, added, “The agreement with Motors TV is another big step for the FIM Motocross World Championship. Motors TV broadcasts throughout Europe and with their personalised commentary and very professional journalists they will give another boost to our sport. Motocross is continuing to grow and offers race fans and TV spectators a magical show. The last three years have seen the championship breaking all records and we believe 2008, thanks also to the support of Motors TV, will be another year of success.”
The 2008 FIM Motocross World Championship season starts on April 6th at Valkenswaard, in the Netherlands; more details on the programming and commentary team involved will be released in the next few weeks.
