This week's first test of 2008 marks the swansong for our 2007 car, the RB3, and for the  morning at least, the weather was certainly the sort much loved by swans and other  water  birds.  Overnight  rain  continued  into  the  morning,  giving  David  his  first chance  of  driving  in  the  wet  without  any  traction  control  and  engine  braking. Conditions were changeable throughout the day as the track took a while to dry fully and the technical programme centred mainly on the continuation of validating engine and gearbox operation with this year's common Electronic Control Unit.

Mark Webber takes over in the cockpit today, before DC gets to debut our new 2008 car, (RB4) on Wednesday.
