10th season for World Motorsports

Pit Lane Productions Ltd has been commissioned by Sky Sports to produce a tenth season of its motorsports magazine programme World Motorsports. The weekly two and a half hour is one of the longest running programmes on Sky Sports and each week delivers a mix of International and National motor racing and rallying.

Among the top International racing series featured in the programme are the DTM, Formula 3 Euro Series, the Asian Festival of Speed events, the Star Mazda series from the States and World Series by Renault as well as the latest news including Formula 1 launches and updates.

The programme also embraces forms of motorsport rarely seen on television such as National Hot Rods, including the World Finals, and Autograss racing. For Rallycross fans the programme includes every round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship while rally fans are well catered for with action from the FIA Junior Rally Championship, FIA Middle East Rally Championship, the FIA European Rally Championship, the Intercontinental Rally Challenge and a number of domestic series.

Said Executive Producer Andrew Marriott: “We are delighted to be working closely again with Sky Sports on World Motorsports, the programme is very much at the heart of our business. Again we will endeavour to not only bring some of the best motor sports action from around the globe but also background stories and interviews.”

“The year has started brilliantly for us not only with coverage of all the Formula 1 launches and testing including interviews with Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikonen but also in our Autosport Show coverage an exclusive interview with Nigel Stepney, one of the two men at the centre of the “McLarengate” scandal.

“Our actual 10th anniversary will be in March so we will be celebrating that with a change of format and a new look.”

Together with Andrew, David Addison and Ben Constanduros will continue as the main voices for the programme which normally airs on a Monday evening with a number of alternative viewing opportunities.

World Motorsports is produced by Brentford-based Pit lane Productions “in-house” at Sky.
