Rally Fever returns

Rally Fever, Sky Sports’ popular rally series featuring the best of British rallying at National level, will return to the screens in March. Rally Fever will feature the expanded eight-round Pirelli MSA Gravel Rally Championship as well as other selected events.

The series is run by the Association of National Championship Rally Organisers and unlike the British Rally Championship, allows the use of World Rally Cars as well as embracing the hugely popular Mitsubishi Evo Challenge, Britain’s top series for emerging talent.

The 2008 Rally Fever series will cover 13 one hour programmes commencing in March with the hugely popular Get Connected/Carless Wyedean Forest Rally, the opening round the BTRDA Rally Championship, while programme two will feature the openinmg ANCRO round, the Rallye Sunseeker.  Programmes will air on Tuesday evenings on a fortnightly basis with a “summer holiday” in the middle of the year.

Commented Producer Caroline Samuels : “We love the series and all the competitors and we are convinced that the viewers want to see WRC cars in  the UK. This year looks as if it will be another big fight between the Subarus, Hyundais and Fords.”

Pit Lane also syndicates coverage of the series via the Rally Action programme to Russia and a number of European countries.

ANCRO Spokesman Rick Smith said: “We are delighted that the Championship will once again appear in a prime-time Sky slot and look forward once again to working with our friends at Pit Lane.”
