Three road cars up for grabs

Over 100 drivers, team members and sponsors attended the launch with competitor interest running at very high levels, particularly from teams and drivers planning to join the championship for the first time in 2008.For the first time, three 911 road cars will be presented and awarding cars to the leading pro-am racer is another boost for the popular category. Meanwhile, news that the team boss of the leading team will also drive away in a Carrera 911 was a highly popular announcement."It's great that Porsche recognises the work of the teams and this is another real boost for the Carrera Cup," said Simon Leonard, the boss of 2007 team champions Red Line Racing.Meanwhile, first details of the brand new Carrera Cup GB race centre were unveiled. The all-new facility will be a major step forward and offers seating for 200 drivers, teams and their guests throughout Carrera Cup race weekends. Uniquely, the Carrera Cup race centre is fully operational on official test days as well as race weekends, providing teams with first-class support all through the season.Also announced during the launch were the key media statistics for the 2007 season. In total, the championship attracted a total TV audience of 6.5 million viewers through the 'Motorsport UK' programme on ITV1, along with a regional radio audience of over 10 million and a print media readership of over 12 million.
