Dunlop sport maxx cup season finale

It’s the final round of the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup and the Championship Winner will be crowned.

The Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup reaches its climax at the final round of the Championship at Rockingham on Sunday 28 September 2008.

With one more race to complete, the Drivers' title is still up for grabs with front-runners Leyton Clarke and Martin Wallbank both on 121 points.

Martin Wallbank’s 12 points lead over Simon Gusterson should be enough to claim the class A Championship, unless a non-finish is matched with a win and a fastest lap set by Gusterson.

In class B, Leyton Clarke is just three points ahead of Quentin Laithwaite and will need to win his race to secure both class and the Championship titles.

Meanwhile, the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup class C Championship has been won by Simon Holloway in the last two rounds at Thruxton, with a comfortable 23 points lead advantage going into Round 14.

What the grand final now means is that for either, Clarke or Wallbank to not win in their class, for the other to walk away with the coveted title and to be crowned, the overall Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup 2008 Champion.

Action from the Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup at Rockingham will be shown on SKY Sports and Motors TV.
