Best of British Motorsport coverage
The Texaco Havoline Ginetta G20 Championship has a new home for 2009 after joining Motors TV’s “Best of British Motorsport” roster.
This one make series involves identical Ginetta G20 sportscars battling it out across 16 rounds which culminate at Spa-Francorchamps for the season finale in October. There, the British contingent will be joined by Spanish and Swedish entries in the first ever Eurocup meeting where there’s potential for 65 cars to take to the classic Belgian circuit.
Motors TV will have action from all of this season’s races thanks to eight, half-hour highlights programmes on Saturday evenings.
Allying lightweight, track-day inspired body and chassis design to a throaty Ford 1800cc Zetec powerplant, the little Ginettas are a credit-crunch busting package that matches gutsy performance and exciting racing with cheap, easy to run machinery.
The High Speed Television Channel has long shown fellow weekend stable mates British Formula 3 and GT championships with the Ginetta’s inclusion for 2009 marking a worthy and popular addition to its “Best of British Motorsport” coverage.
Motors TV’s Head of Programming and Acquisitions, Frederic Viger said, “We’re delighted to have secured the rights to the Ginetta G20 series this year. As one of Britain’s true independent manufacturers, it’s fantastic to see them doing so well through their motorsport commitments, success we can hopefully help contribute to with our half-hour primetime coverage on Saturday evenings. Having been impressed with last season’s championship, I’m certain that teams and drivers will continue to put on a fantastic show in 2009.”
Catch the Texaco Havoline Ginetta G20 Championship on Motors TV in the regular Best of British Motorsport slot – Saturday’s from 7pm. The first programme airs on April 18th with action of the opening round from Oulton Park.
