The second of today’s Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo races at Adria International Raceway, Italy, saw Petri Corse secure their second win, again with Fabio Babini and Claudio Rossetto.
The Italian duo led the field from start to finish, with Babini creating a good gap in the first stint; after the driver change, Rossetto focussed on consistency to maintain the lead. Autovitesse’s Alexander Frei and Jonathan Cochet improved their starting position by five places to secure second, whilst Peter Kox and team-mate Marc A. Hayek crossed the finish line in third place.
“We have found a really good balance on the car,” said race winner Babini. “Lamborghini and Pirelli are working extremely well together, and we managed to keep a consistent lap time throughout the race.”
“The cars are getting faster and you can tell that the drivers are getting used to them,” said Lamborghini’s Director of Brand and Design, Manfred Fitzgerald. “Race One was like testing for us, but now we are seeing close, clean racing.”
