MCL Motorhomes MSA British Hillclimb Championship - Rounds 9 & 10 - Gurston Down, May 23rd & 24th
In perfect weather under clear skies Martin Groves won round nine, qualifying for the run-off with a new class record. But in the final run of the day Moran came back to win round ten and he too qualified with a class record.
Chris Merrick held on to third place in the championship with third and fifth despite fumbling the paddle shift. His co-driver Tom New took a creditable sixth in round nine but accidentally turned off the engine fuel pump switch at Karousel bend to fail in round ten.
Groves co-driver Paul Ranson continued his successful 2009 with fourth and third to move to within a point of Roger Moran. Trevor Willis worked away for a fifth and fourth place and is handily placed to move up the field as the season progresses.
