in the pipeline for Formula One
Japan’s Fuji Speedway circuit is considering giving up next year’s Japanese Formula One grand prix, whilst France has said it will do everything it can to get back onto the series.
Reuters reports that a spokesman for Fuji’s owners, Toyota, said, “(Fuji's company) FISCO tell us they are taking various elements into account in their consideration towards hosting next year's Japanese Grand Prix.” Financial considerations are behind the move.
In other Formula One circuit news this weekend, Reuters reported that French Prime Minister Francois Fillon said, “"The government will do everything so that there can be a Grand Prix in France as soon as possible, that is to say from 2010 (or) 2011.”
“We are in the process of looking at which circuit (would be used), if we need to build a new one...this is probable...it would undoubtedly take some time.”
