The 3rd and 4th Rounds of the Aston Martin Asia Cup Head to Sepang, Malaysia.
The wonderful Sepang circuit in Malaysia is the destination for the Aston Martin Asia Cup’s third and fourth rounds on 4-6thth June 2009.
After opening the season with a pair of support races at the Chinese F1 Grand Prix, the one make Aston Martin series has the honour of supporting the Sepang 1000km race this coming weekend when it is sure to get thecrowd in the mood for some world class motor racing.
Talking part will be Round One winner Dilantha Malagamuwa (Sri Lanka) in his Dilango Racing Aston Martin N24, who will be eager to repeat his victory. He will have stiff opposition from Round Two’s winner Mark Williamson (Australia) in the ConcordEnergy Racing car. Indeed Singaporean based ConcordEnergy Racing will be sporting a trio of cars this weekend with Mark joined by fellow Australian Simon Waters and England’s Ryan Marsden.
Flying the flag for Malaysia, and no stranger to the AMAC podium, Tunku Hammam will be looking to give the home crowd something to cheer about along with fellow Malaysian drivers Dato Azman Yahya and JP Chin. And, always in the fray ThunderAsia Racing’s Mel Choo (Singapore) will be eager to recreate his AMAC win at Sepang in 2008.
Hong Kong’s Eric Cheung is set to continue the great strides he made in China whilst the series also welcomes back two drivers who took part in selected rounds in 2008 – France’s Jean-Marc Merlin and Australia’s Peter Boylan.
