Joins Toy Collector Audi Charity Auction Lineup
Fans of Audis and Le Mans racing now have the opportunity to get themselves one of the most detailed model Le Mans racers ever, and benefit a good cause thanks to Amalgam Fine Model Cars, Audi and Toy Collector.
The company, which creates high-quality scale model cars and yachts for designers, manufacturers and high-end collectors worldwide, has donated one of their 1/8-scale Audi R10 TDI models to the online charity auction Toy Collector is running in conjunction with Audi to mark the brand’s centenary.
Hand-made, the Amalgam R10 is one of a limited edition of 199 and depicts the 2006 Le Mans-winning car. Like all Amalgam models, it is produced to the exact same specifications as the full-size car and takes Amalgam’s craftsmen around fifty hours to assemble. The model retails at £2750.00.
The auction, which benefits the Helen & Douglas House Hospice for Children and Young Adults runs until Audi’s official birthday on July 16th. Interested parties can bid at any time up until then - all they need to do is to take out a free Toy Collector membership.
The Amalgam R10 is available in addition to over 20 other models provided by Audi themselves from the Audi Miniatures Collection, and other manufacturers including CMC, Neo and Schuco. All the models available are also featured in Toy Collector’s special Audi Centenary Blog, tracing the marque’s history in small-scale. They span the whole Audi timeline and include CMC’s 1936 225 Front Roadster and 1938 920 Cabriolet, Brumm and Revell 1930’s Auto Union Streamliner Grand Prix cars, 1960’s DKWs and Auto Unions from Minichamps and iconic modern Audis like the Quattro, TT and R8 in various scales.
