SCOTT Nicholls scored his first paid maximum since returning to the Elite League to help Coventry to all three points against Belle Vue.Nicholls combined with captain Chris Harris for an important last-heat 5-1in a meeting which concluded in heavy rain.He said: "It wasn't easy out there but I felt pretty comfortable and I really want to get back to enjoying my racing."

POOLE are refusing to give up on the play-offs after taking a point from a narrow 46-47 defeat at Lakeside.The Pirates moved off the bottom of the table but are still some way adrift of the top six at the halfway stage of their campaign.Manager Neil Middleditch said: "There is still time for us to put together a string of results and get ourselves back into contention."
