Team’s Ford GT1 in Oschersleben
After scoring points with the 2010 specification Ford GT1 cars in the first two rounds of the FIA GT Championship this year there will be a new driver line-up at the third round in Oschersleben for the number 44 car.The German Marc Hennerici, who currently competes in the ADAC GT Masters and has already finished twice on the top of the podium this year, will join Thomas Mutsch to co-drive the new Ford GT1 car."We are glad to have Marc on board” – emphasized Martin Bartek, Team Principal and Owner of the Matech GT Racing Team. "He is fast and capable of winning races, as he was already able to prove that last year on the wheel of a Matech Ford GT3 in the ADAC GT Masters series. I’m sure Marc and Thomas will form an excellent pair in Oschersleben and I’m looking forward to a very good race there.” Beside certain setup adjustments, the Ford GT1 has also been fitted with some new upgrades since the last round in Adria, Italy. The shock absorbers have been changed to KW Automotive, the car has received a new center-wheel locking system, and the cockpit ventilation and the driver’s track visibility have been substantially improved."I’m grateful to Mo-We-Ko Motorsport Management for making it possible for me to join Matech GT Racing Team for the third round in Oschersleben and I’m absolutely pleased to have the chance to drive the new Ford GT1 there” – said Marc Hennerici. "Having just recently been able to drive and appreciate the Ford GT3 at the 24H ADAC-Zurich race on the Nürburgring, I can’t wait to experience the new Ford GT1, which is built to compete in next year’s FIA GT World Championship.”
