Rounds 1&2: Causey Park, Morpeth (Northumberland), 25/26 July
Defending British Champion, Michael Henderson, got his campaign off to a flying start on home turf. It was a dream start to the season for him, winning his class on both days to collect the maximum 20 points on offer. But there appears to be some stiff competition this year from Leigh English who also claimed maximum points in class B1. With several other drivers tied on 19 and 18 points, it promises to be an exciting battle this season.
Frantic four car starts kept the substantial crowd entertained for the duration of the event, with plenty of close racing and over taking. Reigning British Junior Champion, Tom Clark, progressed from the juniors to the seniors this season, following his 16th birthday in May and a session of rallying in Latvia. Entering into the quickest class (class E), in his Mitsubishi Evo IV, he achieved 4th and 2nd in class in the respective rounds.
